Before you book

Plan your move around the tram, in thirty seconds

Every inner-east move starts with the same three questions: which tram corridor, which era of home, and where the truck can legally stop. Answer them and our planner builds a tailored access brief for your address, so nothing about the tram or the permit is a surprise on the day.

Where we work

The inner east, read corridor by corridor

We cover the Boroondara area street by street. It groups naturally into three kinds of move, and knowing which one is yours is half the plan.

The Glenferrie–Burke tram spine

The busy corridors. Trams on Glenferrie Rd and the full length of Burke Rd set clearway hours, so here the first move-day question is always the tram: we time the loading window and lodge the Boroondara permit before the truck rolls.

The northern rise — Cotham & Whitehorse

Deep garden blocks above the Yarra bend. The clearways sit on the boundary roads (Cotham Rd, Whitehorse Rd), while the real work is the long carry from an estate gate to the front door, under an established plane-tree canopy that a pantech has to read.

What the era of your home means on move day

The inner east has one of the highest concentrations of heritage homes in Victoria. The age of the house decides the hallway width, the driveway opening and the carry, so it shapes the crew and the truck we send.

Era Built What it means for the move
Victorian pre-1905 The narrowest hallways and doorways in the stock (often 760–810mm) and driveway openings under 3m. Heritage overlay is likely, so nothing has been widened — a smaller 4.5t truck frequently manoeuvres a deep period block better than a full pantech.
Edwardian 1905–1915 Wider than Victorian but still notably tighter than a modern build. Deep verandahs mean a longer carry to the street, and the iron lacework is fragile — door-frame protectors come standard.
Federation 1890–1915 Red brick and terracotta, original timber floors and ornate cornicing that reward a careful crew. Driveway openings vary block to block, so we check yours before move day.
Interwar 1920s–40s Wider hallways than the period homes, cream brick and weatherboard, and standard driveway widths on most blocks. Usually no heritage overlay and generally more forgiving to move.
Post-war 1950s–70s Wider doorways and driveways with standard clearances for modern furniture — the most accessible era in the inner-east stock.

How it works

A move that’s planned, not improvised

  1. Get a quote

Tell us what you’re moving, from where to where, and your dates. We come back with an honest, no-obligation quote.

  2. We plan the access

Parking, lifts, staircases and the carry at both ends: we work it out before move day, not on it.

  3. Moving day

A careful crew wraps, loads and transports your home, protecting floors, frames and furniture on the way.

  4. Settled in

We place everything where it belongs, reassemble what we took apart, and clear the empties if you’d like.

Common questions

Good to know before you move

A few of the things inner-east movers ask us most. Anything else, the crew is happy to talk it through when you enquire.

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the quote form with your pickup and drop-off addresses, your dates and a rough idea of what you’re moving. The more detail (and a photo or two of anything heavy or awkward), the more accurate the quote.

How far ahead should I book?

The earlier the better, especially around month-end and weekends when removalists book out. A week or two usually secures your preferred date, but get in touch even at short notice and we’ll do our best to fit you in.

Can you move single heavy or awkward items?

Yes. Pianos, fridges, sofas and wardrobes (including up and down tight staircases) are a normal day for us. Send a photo with your enquiry and we’ll tell you exactly what’s involved.

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Yes. Your belongings are covered while we’re moving them, and we wrap and protect furniture and your home as standard. Ask us about the cover when you request your quote.
